And I promise you kidThat I’ll give so much more than I get Austin walked into the strip club and immediate looked out of place. It had been several days since his meeting with Violet, and he finally felt like enough time had passed that even if anyone saw the two of them together, they wouldn’t remember such a trivial detail. Outwardly, Austin portrayed nothing but confidence, an easy smile on his face as he scanned the room, looking for somewhere to sit. Inwardly, though, Austin was uncomfortable. He had done plenty of things while undercover for vice, including make appearances at strip clubs, but he would never feel comfortable in one. And he would never step in one unless it was for work. Personally, he didn’t quite get the appeal. Austin attracted enough attention from women without having to pay for their company.
Austin bright blue eyes soon landed on an empty seat. It was close enough to the stage that he was sure to attract the attention of at least one of the dancers, but far enough away from where everyone was sitting. But first, he needed a drink. He couldn’t go ham, of course, since he was still on the job. But getting a drink served two purposes. One, it helped to calm his nerves, and two, it helped him fit in with the rest of the clientele. As he looked around, he saw that almost every man had either a glass or a beer in his hand. Austin already felt like he stuck out like a sore thumb. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to wear, so he ended up leaving straight from work wearing what he had worn for the day. And really, he could see plenty of men dressed in business clothes, as if they had done the same thing. But, as Austin walked to the bar, he could feel his police badge on his belt putting slight pressure on his left hip bone. It wasn’t visible, that Austin was sure of, since he checked three times before leaving the station. Not that it would matter much. The plan was to “accidentally” show his badge to dancers and bartenders as the night wore on, hopefully scaring them into giving Violet information she desperately needed.
Upon reaching the bar, Austin didn’t take a seat. Rather, he casually leaned on the bar, knowing that he was not intending to stay very long at the bar. He grabbed the attention of the bartender and ordered, “Miller lite draft, please.” As the bartender went to pour his drink, Austin was careful in grabbing his wallet so his badge didn’t flash. It was still too early in the night for that. Austin left a $5 bill on the counter as the drink was being placed there, and gruffly told the bartender, “Keep the change.” Austin mentally took a deep breath and walked to his intended seat, sipping his beer as he waited for the show to begin.

MARCUS! Poison in our veins, but we don't even care
WORDS 300? | Marcus pulled open the side door as he blew out the smoke from his cigarette. He didn't normally smoke, wasn't a fan of the habit but it was offered to him and he took it. He wasn't a man to deny a gift. Checking the crowd, Henry frowned. His mood going sour.
He was supposed to be meeting a guy who worked at the docks. The man was a little over forty-minutes lates and Marcus knew it was a bust. Making a note to swing by the guy's work and see what happened, Marcus knew he'd be preparing for a fight later. The man was supposed to meet him so they could discuss a trade, the man would store goods for Marcus' boss and the man would get a tiny percent of the profit. An added bonus was going to be Marcus not busting in his teeth, but that bonus was discarded by him not showing up.
Tempted just to leave and head out early, Marcus decided to stay. He hadn't gotten to see Vi in a few days and wanted to feast his eyes on the pretty dancer. Finding a seat near the edge, Marcus was able to watch the girls walking about and the patrons without relative ease. Perhaps his mark would show up later.
Coaxing a waitress over with a flick of his finger he ordered a scotch, he paid with a ten and waited for the girl to bring it to him. Upon her return, he confirmed with her that Vi was indeed working before he settled back to sip his drink. Eager to see her again, Marcus watched for her.

She had to act natural, and like she didn't know who Austin was or that he was a cop. So when she happened to glance toward the door and saw him walk in, she made herself busy elsewhere...without appearing too suspicious. By now, most of the others were finding people to be busy with; Violet was still making a few rounds. She was due on stage in about fifteen minutes anyway; so she'd catch a few strays that way. It had been a few days since she had met with Austin, and honestly she had forgotten she had told him he should stop by. She'd need to get Mikey over toward him so that they could talk, Mikey would be the easiest to flip. And, it would get them another line of talk since he mostly worked the bar. She gave him a wink as he looked over her way. As she glanced toward the door, she couldn't help but feel her heart flutter as Marcus walked into the club. She hadn't been able to get him off her mind, so she was glad when she hadn't seen him for a few days. She knew that he was the perfect mark for an undercover operation...but there was a part of her that wasn't entirely prepared for undercover. She was a good girl, never really lied, always told it like it was...what they were doing was all for justice, and Marcus probably was a bad man...but that didn't stop the way he made her feel, the flush she felt when he was near. Her attention was drawn away when a patron called for her, and she told them she'd have to come back later for their dance since she was due on stage. By the time she turned around, Marcus seemed to be talking to one of the newer girls, causing Violet to frown a little. Perhaps her feelings of attachment were unwarranted, and he really was just out for the sex. They certainly didn't have the most...traditional of meetings. Her heart dropped a little, but it only fueled her rage as she made her way back stage to get ready for her set.
She was in a red corset with black lace lining, black fishnets, and a red thong that shined through. Her red heels were thick four inch heels; she could easily defend herself with them if she needed. She tried her best not to even look at Marcus as she disappeared behind the stage, the music fading out as the announcer got ready to call her out.
"And now, for all of your enjoyment, the minx of the moment, Violeetttt!"[/i]
She was probably going to get shit from Austin, who seemed to see himself as an expert on undercover, for using her real name. But what was the point of not? She did have a perfect stripper name already. It was too small of a town to keep up with a second identity. The music picked up; an angry and firey mix of techno and angst...perfect for her mood. She grabbed the pole at first and slid down it, like she was melting onto the stage before raising up and crawling to the edge of the stage. She tried at first not to look anyone in the eye, but as she got into the music, she let herself go and began moving and dancing with the music. With just a few loosenings of the corset, it dropped behind her to the ground exposing her to the crowd. There were a few hoops and hollers, and some dollars thrown, but she made her way toward Marcus-if he was going to leave her behind for fresh meat, she'd make sure he knew what he was missing. She grabbed the edge of his chair and pulled him closer to the stage, so his knees were touching it as she leaned closer to him, pressing her body up against his face. Sitting up on the edge of the stage, she looked down to him with devilish contempt in her eyes as she gently whispered, "Miss me yet?" Before he could react, she moved away, her eyes searching the crowd for Austin...but he was really too far away for her to entertain him without drawing some strange looks, so she moved to the other side of the stage where she got down on her hands and knees and let other men paw at her and shove money in her g-string. It was a decent haul for being a weeknight, as the song ended and she picked up what was around the stage and made her way behind the curtain. She quickly tucked it away and put her corset back on, having one of the other girls tie it again so that it perked her girls up a little more, before she made her way out onto the floor again. She eyed Marcus, but didn't go to him just yet, heading toward the other men first. She was working; had to get her money somehow...and well, Austin was going to have to drink a little more and loosen up before he wouldn't give away things.

And I promise you kidThat I’ll give so much more than I get As Austin casually sipped his beer, movement near the front of the stage from the corner of his eye caught his attention. Without being obvious, Austin shifted his gaze, and his eyes soon landed on a man who was currently taking a seat right up next to the stage. Austin didn’t recognize the man, but he had an air about him that screamed bad news. Austin’s instincts were usually pretty good about these kind of things, and found himself immediately disliking him.
Austin’s attention was brought back to the stage as the announcer introduced Violet. Austin felt his heart sink a little bit. He couldn’t help but hope that it wasn’t his Violet entering the spotlight, that there was another girl who just happened to go by Violet who worked at the club. There was no way that Violet would have risked blowing her cover by using her real name. Alas, his silent pleas were for naught as he watched his lieutenant walk onto the stage. He groaned inwardly, hoping no one would make the connection, more out of concern for Violet’s safety rather than the integrity of the case.
Such thoughts quickly left Austin’s mind as he watched Violet strut around the stage. Just like he had been at their breakfast meeting, he was once again struck by how gorgeous she was. Despite being scantily clothed, Violet walked with a surprising amount of confidence. Austin wasn’t sure he would be able to do what she was doing, especially as he watched her flirt with the man he had watched from earlier. As he watched Violet return to the stage, he couldn’t help but feel like he was watching such an intimate moment. Here he was, sipping on a beer, while he watched his boss exposed on stage, entertaining men with a scary hunger in their eyes as they slipped dollar bills into her thong. But, she had invited him to come to the club, knowing full well what she was asking Austin to witness, but it still made Austin uncomfortable. He saw one of the bartenders making her rounds coming towards him, and he quickly downed the last of his beer, knowing he was going to need some more liquid courage to get through the night. He ordered another beer, handing the girl $5 just as the song ended, and watched as Violet exited the stage.
The lieutenant wasn’t gone for long. Soon, Austin saw Violet making her way around the floor. Blue eyes left Violet momentarily as the waitress returned back with his drink. However, as soon as the girl left, Austin scanned the crowd and quickly spotted Violet in her red and black attire.

A smirk crossed her lips as she saw Austin down the whole bottle, and she couldn't help herself. Sure, she could be fired for sexual harassment, but she needed to help a brother out and get him to loosen up a little more. She glanced to Marcus again, he seemed enthralled in some dealings, so she needed to remain close but not too close. Austin was simply too far away right now. The next dancer walked out, and she slowly strutted toward Austin. "Hey sugar, want a dance?" She said, bending down and giving him a perfect view of into her shirt. Oh she was enjoying tormenting him. "Someone had a rough day at work, didn't they? A little tense, eh?" She leaned in a little closer, so that she looked like she was breathing in his ears. She didn't want to touch him, because in the back of her mind she was slightly worried about him reporting her or something...he had seen the way he looked at her with concern this morning, and getting her for sexual assault was another matter entirely. "You need to move closer to the stage, closer to that guy you're eyeballing. I gotta work the floor, I can't hover over him. That's Marcus, the front man." She stood and gave a soft pout, bopping him on the nose before crossing her arms over her chest. "I'll be back around once you get some more liquid courage sweetie, I know there's a tiger in you just waiting to escape." She moved on to the next table, and sat down there. They were quickly pawing on her, as she playfully slapped their hands away with a laugh. It was going to be a long night if she couldn't get Austin to loosen up, but he'd soon see that she enjoyed this life. And it might honestly be safer for the town to know that there was a police officer working at the strip club some nights...would make the girls get a little more respect.

As Austin watched Violet approach, a turmoil of emotions crossed through his brain. He couldn’t help but find her incredibly attractive, the makeup and outfit accentuating her naturally pretty features. He was embarrassed, seeing his boss in such a vulnerable position. And, he was a little guilty. He’s had an amazing night with Destiny, and he couldn’t even begin to imagine what she would say if she knew he was sitting in the strip club, even if it was for work. He didn’t have time to process any of this, though, because soon, Violet was standing in front of him, leaning forward and giving Austin the perfect view of her chest. Austin could feel a blush threatening to show itself as Violet cooed to him, but he was able so suppress it all but for the tips of his ears. Austin’s focus snapped back to the task at hand as Violet spoke into his ears, her tone just barely a whisper. Without even looking, Austin knew exactly who Violet was speaking of. It was the only man that had caught Austin’s eye. There were your standard sleezy guy here, there was no question about that. Quite frankly, the small club was practically overflowing with men who would rather ogle at a woman than actually be kind to one. However, the one that Violet had named Marcus was the only one who seemed truly malicious. He carried himself with an air that immediately turned Austin off. Once again, his gut instinct seemed to have been correct. Almost immediately, Violet rose back to a standing position, promising to return. He tried to replicate the men surrounding him and told her, “Don't take too long sweet cheeks, I'll miss you. I’m gonna get a closer seat so I can get a better look at all the pretty ladies.” The words coming out of his mouth were enough to make him want to vomit, and he had to hold back a shudder that was threatening to take over his body. He didn’t know how Violet stood this, day in and day out. He’d been at the club for about 45 minutes now, and already all he wanted to do was go home and sit in a hot shower for a long time, trying to wash away the filth from this place. Instead, he stood up and walked to where Marcus was sitting. He sat far enough that he wouldn’t be suspicious that Austin had targeted him, but close enough so that he could hear everything he said. Violet rolled her eyes at the man, wanting nothing more than to smack her hand to her forehead. Was he trying to stick out like a sore thumb? It was obvious that he didn't belong here by the way he carried himself, it was obvious to everyone, and trying to fit in just made it worse. She bit her lip, glancing to Marcus over the crowd but thankfully he was too deep in his own conversation to even notice him. Austin was supposed to be the best of the best, she was just going to have to trust that. She gulped down her anxiety and made her way through the halls, shimmying her hips this way and that. She made her way over to Marcus' table and one of the other men grabbed at her. She playfully batted him away. While Marcus insisted she was cool and could stay, as she took residence sitting on his lap-the others at the table's lips clamped up immediately; stating that Marcus was going soft. He didn't really say no, but he told Violet to leave for a while and slipped her a few bills for more drinks. She pouted, batting her eyes at the other guys before sauntering to the bar. She wasn't phased at all as she stopped off at a few other tables, leaning over them and giving full shots of her cleavage to anyone. She got to the bar, exchanged words with the bartender, then made her way back over to Marcus's table and gingerly set the drinks down. She wasn't about to draw attention to Austin right now, not with how they were being. She didn't want him to get hurt.
However, avoiding him was also not going to work; so as she ran into the other girl she whispered something, and a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes approached Austin. This was Devon, a horse thief but a heart of gold, who went by Angel. "Little miss Violet told me I might be more your type stud muffin," Devon felt the bile coming up in her throat, she hated working the floor, she hated them touching her and she just wanted to punch their lights out. Devon wanted nothing more than to burn the place down some nights, but it was so easy to take advantage of them and steal their money from their wallets; having them have to go get more. So she grinned and bore it. She was wearing a black flame string bikini top that was snug and covered her ever so perfectly, and a long black trenchcoat, showing that she only had on the black string bikini bottom on her legs and cowboy boots. She gave Austin a wink before sliding into a seat beside him. "You look a little tense sweety, you should loosen up..." She placed her hands on his shoulders, starting a little massage pressure. She'd found a gentle touch worked best.

Austin wince inwardly at Violet’s eye roll. Even he knew that he was trying too hard. Why was this so difficult? It wasn’t like he’d never been undercover before. He’d seen and done things that he could never admit to someone outside of the force when he worked vice. But, he reminded himself, he’d never worked with someone he cared for who could potentially be in danger. Austin wasn’t dumb; Violet was his boss. But still, he couldn’t help but worry for her own safety, the image of her at their last meet-up still vivid in his mind. Austin shifted his gaze to the man he was supposed to be keeping an eye on and was relieved to see that he hadn’t seemed to notice his embarrassing mess up. Subtly, Austin took a deep breath and yelled at himself to get his head in the game. Right now was not the time to let emotions get the best of him. Austin turned his head towards the stage, staring intently. To anyone looking at him, he would seem like another perv obsessed with half-naked girls dancing on stage. However, he barely noticed what was happening right in front of him. Instead, he focused his attention on his peripheral vision, keeping on eye on what was happening with the men sitting nearby. Every once in a while, he allowed himself to quickly glance, trying to keep tabs on where Violet was. But, besides sitting on his lap momentarily, Violet continued to make her rounds, carrying drinks to clients. He did his best to listen in on the men’s conversation, but he couldn’t make out any words, just hushed tones. Austin was so focused that he almost didn’t notice the young blonde walking towards him. Austin tore his gaze away to look at her. She was pretty, there was no denying that, but wasn’t quite his type. Still, Austin had a part to play, and smiled kindly at her. When she took a seat, Austin couldn’t help but allow his eyes to wander to where Violet was standing. This had to have been her doing. The young blonde began to gently massage his shoulders and he forced himself to relax his muscles. She would know something was wrong if his shoulders carried all the stress he was currently feeling. Devon smirked, leaning in closer again and letting her breath hit his ear. Her voice was soft and bubbly; one would have no idea that she could drop a guy in only a few seconds in a street fight.she followed his gaze a moment to where Violet was standing, and though she liked what she saw, she had always felt a little contempt for the woman. She marched in here like she owned the place, more or less shoving the rest of them out in the cold. Moulin and Mikey were the only ones who didn’t secretly want to cut her throat. Devon was beginning to suspect that there was more to her showing up than the boss just wanting another girl, but who knew. He did dumbshit on a whim. Nonetheless, she played it nice and smirked against the man’s ear. “Long day at work, love? Afraid your wifey is going to find you here staring at all the lovely pieces?” She rested her head on his shoulder a moment, letting her finger tips slide down around his shoulders. “Don’t worry honey, that’s what the back room exit door is for. Tehe...” She hated herself every time she did that bubbly idiot laugh, but the guys always seemed to like it. “Do you need something to loosen you up a bit more? Relax you?” She walked around to face him, her fingertips trailing around his shoulder. She glanced to where Violet had been standing, and saw that she was gone for the moment. Glancing over toward the table where Marcus was, she saw her over there with her having a jolly good time, not even caring about this poor little guy. Her attention turned fully back onto him, smiling innocently.

Austin’s attention was refocused from Violet to the girl standing behind him as she spoke into his ear, her breath tickling his neck as she did so. He averted his gaze, partially because he didn’t want his cover to be blown but also partially he felt it was a little rude to be looking at another woman right now. He was sure that many of the ladies who worked here didn’t get even an ounce of respect that they deserved, and while he couldn’t be his normal, respectful self, he could at least show them some dignity. Austin tried to bring himself back to character as he chuckled a little bit at the girl’s words. In reality, he felt like a scum bag. The only relief he felt was knowing that he’d never, ever do this to a woman he married. No matter how awful his day was, he’d find his way back to the woman he loved. Austin repressed that part of him and told her, “Long day doesn’t even begin to cover it, and the misses just doesn’t understand me.” Leaning back in his chair a little more, he grinned and replied to her second question, “I could use something to take my mind off my worries.”In his peripheral vision, Austin caught movement. Half-expecting it to be Violet, he turned his head, but it was just the young woman walking to stand in front of him. Austin kept a grin on his face, hoping she hadn’t caught the wave of disappointment that fluttered in his stomach at the realization. Lucky for him, her gaze had momentarily left him, so Austin believed he was safe. When she looked back at him, he asked, “What’s your name, sweetheart?” The words felt disgusting leaving his mouth, but Austin made sure his facial expressions didn’t falter. Violet sat at the table with Marcus and his goons, smiling at their chiding marks. She was happy that she was finally getting deep enough to be part of the "in crowd" to find out some things. Marcus didn't respect her, didn't think she was smart enough to do anything with the information she was discussing-what he didn't know, was going to hurt him. It pained her slightly; he respected her in different ways. She almost felt bad for betraying him...but as they slammed down on the table rough housing something new, she realized that that feeling in the pit of her stomach was something else entirely. She gulped it down, smiling to them. "Excuse me boys, I've got to go to the little girls room to you know...freshen up." She gave them a wink her fingers trailing along Marcus's arm, and walked as quickly as she could saunter to the bathroom; flinging open a stall door and locking it before hurling herself toward the toilet and vomiting the wine she had drank earlier. She stared at it as she wiped her mouth, laying against the cool floor. Scrambling for her phone, she stared to see who she should text. if Austin came in here, it would blow her cover. But none of the other girls trusted her. She sent a quick text to Annabelinda to tell her to come in here. She would know what to do-if she should tough it out or just go home. She groaned as her stomach rolled and she leaned against the toilet again.
Devon watched as she scurried off to the bathroom, but said nothing as she turned to Austin and draped herself over his lap. "So the misses, eh? do you want to talk about it all, or just...melt your worries away?" She batted her eyes at him and leaned up her breath against his ear. "Anything you want it to be, but most people call me...Angel.'

Annabel was helping girls back stage tonight, her set wasn't for quite some time, so her phone was tucked into the band of her bra, just underneath her arm. She hadn't felt the urge to dress further than her thong and bra, normally she was decked out to the nines in a white corset that had a white feather bustle. While what she wore was acceptable stripper attire here, she felt rather naked. All the girls seemed to respect her though, and it seemed like she had the most respect out of all the girls. She couldn't deny that she didn't appreciate it. Watching each of the girls from backstage, she realized just how different her style was than them. As Violet returned backstage from her set Annabel had been the one to tighten her corset, she did it with an elegant fashion. Several minutes went by as she continued to help the rest of the girls prepare for their sets. Her phone vibrated against her rib cage. That was weird. Her brows knitted as she reached under her arm to pull it out and looked at the screen. It wasn't unnatural for any of the girls to text her, as she seemed to be the mother hen of the strippers. She looked at the text and reached for a white feather coat from the rack. She draped it over her shoulders before heading to the woman's bathroom. Annabel looked at all the men on the floor as she walked with an elegance, Devon was working a man and it made her smile. She shook her head as she walked into the bathroom. Finding a stall slightly ajar she pushed it open the rest of the way. She crouched down beside Violet, a small smile on her face. "You alright Vio?" She asked, placing her hand on her back and rubbing softly. Her eyes wandered to the toilet but quickly darted back. Taking her other hand she gathered Violet's hair in a messy bun and held onto it with one hand and she returned the other to her back. Using her foot she kicked the stall door closed the rest of the way. jennAmy asked me if I could poke in with Annabel since she's kinda the mother hen of the girls.
