Having taken some time to mourn the separation from his dear sister, Hercules climbs to the highest clifftop before looking down at the Ocean. He wasn't going to jump, not his stubborn side would not give up so easily, instead he was following his instinct. He would take this land for his own, so he could watch the sea every night and await for the day that his sister returned. Some people might not understand why he wanted to keep her close, had they know his past and that his sister was now the only family he had left to his knowledge, it would become clear to them. Taking in a deep breath of the salty ocean air, he looked out over the land he was going to claim. One more deep, calming breath before he raised himself up on his hind legs and yelled out into the air.
"I claim this land as my own! Any who dare try to take it from me, will have to do so over my broken body!!"
When he landed back down on all fours, the ground shook slightly underneath of him. Flaring his nostrils as he shook his head, continuing to stare into the night sky, listening to the waves crashing down upon the foot of the cliffs and along the beaches. Turning his back to the water he set off to explore his new land, keeping out a sharp eye. Noticing a small, somewhat steep path heading down to the beaches, he took that route, leaning heavily back on his haunches to try and keep himself from slipping. Once he was down at the beach, he searched around for a bit before stumbling upon a cave. He carefully entered it, finding it completely empty. He had a feeling nothing lived down here because of the water.. He didn't quite know how the tides would work but withing due time he figured he would find out.
Climbing back up the narrow pathway, he let out a deep sigh. It would certainly take some time to get used to that pathway, but he was sure it wouldn't take forever. Spotting the woods, he couldn't help but smile as he headed cautiously towards him. He was new to these lands but his birth herd had lived among the trees, he was grateful to have found a spot with trees as well, and not just trees, there was a couple large caves here as well. He wasn't quite sure if he wanted to check them out or not, but he had a feeling about them. So towards them he went, sniffing at the ground as he did so, flaring his nostrils and snorting. He didn't smell anything like predators, so maybe these caves could work once some changes were made.
Shaking his head again he glanced towards the edge of the forest, deciding it was time to find himself a mare, he wouldn't go very far for now, or at least in his head he was planning on such. All he was certain of now, was that he had claimed this land and he would defend it and its occupants until he was laying broken on the ground, or dead. He couldn't allow those he cared about to ever be harmed.
