The nineteen-year-old had been at the stable since dawn that morning, having been doing nothing that day he figured he'd spend it with his two beloved animals - Viho his gelding and Molimo his dog. He'd actually been taking a nap in Viho's freshly cleaned stall that was partially open for his canine companion to travel to and fro without waking him and annoying him by wanting it to be opened every time he wanted to leave or come back. His horse, being well-behaved for the most part, simply stood in the stall by the napping form of his owner while munching on the food that was still there for him. It was, quite frankly, the perfect day to be lazy. And he'd enjoy every second of it. Mostly because he was avoiding the police station and thus his father, but hey it wasn't like he had done anything bad to avoid the place... Aside from several noise complaints due to a party he threw at some point. However, the echoing sound of whistling managed to reach his ears through the various noises of the other horses, causing an eye to open a little. Now..who was that? With a big yawn and a stretch, Fadei rose up and brushed as much of the gelding's bedding off of himself before he slipped out of the stall and closed it. "Be back in a little bit, Viho. Haven't forgotten about our ride yet!" And with that he went to go investigate the source of the sound. It seemed that Molimo had beat him to the chase and was already trotting up to a girl grooming a horse clipped to cross ties. Fadei merely slipped a hand into his pocket as he approached as well, his dog sitting down and placing both paws on her leg with a whine as well as a begging expression. "Be careful of that little devil there. He'll do anything for a treat." He spoke up once he was perhaps two or so feet away from the girl, his usual charming expression crossing his features now. "My name's Fadei. Fadei Argyros... Heard you whistling and figured I'd come check it out." He greeted, finally moving a little closer just enough to offer out his hand in a handshake to her. "Don't believe we've had the chance to really meet."Word count: --- Tag: jenn

--------------------------------------------------well hey, hey baby it's never too late, pretty soon youwon't remember a thing. and i'll be distant as starsreminiscing, your heart's been wasted on me.----------------------------------------------------------------- [/b] It was then Paige’s turn to nearly start as she heard a voice in front of her. Looking up, she saw a young man walking toward her. It was evident that the dog belonged to him, which made Paige feel a little bit better. At least there wasn’t a random dog walking around the barn. Howie would have definitely loved that one. Raising an eyebrow, Paige told him, “Oh I’m sure. Just make sure Howie doesn’t catch him wandering around like that.” Paige didn’t mean to be a stickler for rules. But, she had known Howie from a prior barn, and knew how he could get about rules and order. He, of course, would never take it on the dog, but would definitely at least have a strict talking to with his owner. Paige extended an arm out to the young man, now officially named Fadei. Smiling, she responded, “I don’t think we have. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Paige.” Gesturing over her shoulder towards the grey mare still standing in the crossties before continuing, “And that goober is Callie.” The mare had mostly calmed down, and was curiously staring at where everyone else was congregated. Paige internally rolled her eyes at the mare. It wasn’t like this was the first time she’d ever seen a dog. She was too much sometimes, which was one of Paige’s main concerns about her as an Olympic prospect. Typically, Paige was able to redirect Callie’s nervous energy into raw talent. But every once in a while, they’d have a show day where Callie jumped out of her skin after few minutes, giving poor scores in the show ring. Turning her attention back to Fadei, she asked, “Are you riding today or just spending time in the barn?” For Paige, both were just as important. She was a firm believer that a successful team spent as much time together out of the saddle as they did in, if not more. But, Paige had been intending on riding a bit this morning, and was curious to see if she had a riding partner. A mischievous grin appeared on Fadei's face at the mention of Howie, the male simply and happily returning the handshake before he pulled his hand back. "Ah, but that's part of the fun! Getting under his skin, that is." He chuckled as he winked at her. So, Paige was her name then, hm? And the horse Callie. His usual smile returned on his face as he snapped his fingers once and pointed at the ground beside him, his eyes not leaving Paige as Molimo simply moved over to his side and sat - to which he received a head rub. At the question on what he was doing here this very day, Fadei nodded once and then glanced over his shoulder where he came from briefly before returning his attention back to Paige. "Both actually. Been here since too early in the morning with my gelding, and Molimo. I was just going to go for a ride soon, hit the cross country course maybe to get some practice in as well. How about yourself?" He responded as he flashed her his infamous grin once again. It'd surely be interesting to see how she rode, if she was today, and to see just how well he'd get along with her. --------------------------------------------------well hey, hey baby it's never too late, pretty soon youwon't remember a thing. and i'll be distant as starsreminiscing, your heart's been wasted on me.----------------------------------------------------------------- [/b] Paige was pleased to hear that Fadei would be riding as well. She wouldn’t take either of her beasts on a cross country course, she didn’t have a death wish. Callie was too skittish for cross country, and would throw Paige before reaching the first jump. Rico, on the other hand, was just too smart and had been allowed to get away with too many bad habits to bring out there. Maybe eventually, when Paige was able to get through an entire ride without bucking, rearing, bolting, or any of the other numerous things the pony gelding liked to do when he thought she wasn’t paying attention. If Fadei ended up in the show jumping ring, though, she could potentially ride with him. Partially, Paige enjoyed the company of others in the show ring, especially if the other rider was serious about a training session. But, Paige also liked to scope out the competition. Paige nodded in response, telling Fadei, “I’ll be riding both my horses today at some point, in between exercising horses for Howie. But never on the cross country course, my beasts would probably land me in the hospital. I’ll be hanging out in the show jumping ring. Callie needs practice with rollbacks and, well, Rico just needs work in general.” Just thinking out the grey pony was enough to make Paige’s blood boil. The pony was so talented, she just didn’t know how to reach him. Fadei grinned at her words about his dog and flicked his eyes down towards the canine who sat there panting happily as his tail brushed the floor of the stable. "Oh, you bet your money on that. He may be smart and well-behaved, but he's a little devil when he wants to be." He responded, chuckling a little before he turned his eyes back over to her. He nodded at her words and lifted a hand to rub the back of his neck, thinking for a few moments. "I'd ask if you wanted to take a ride with me on my gelding, but seeing how we just met..." He trailed off with a small, yet flirtatious, grin, shrugging a little. He then placed a hand on his hip and tilted his head oh so slightly to the side as he listened to her speak a little more. After a few moments he waved a hand in the air and eventually gestured lightly towards the way he had come. "Well, my horse is still in his stall currently. I can go grab him and meet you at the show jumping ring perhaps. Not really our forte since we do cross-country mostly, but it'd be good practice regardless." He told her, dropping his hand to his side and let that just rest on his dog's head. Word count: 225 Tag: jenn
