It had just rained, so there were puddles everywhere. He had come out of his dorm just to watch the rain, and was sitting up on the playground. He didn’t really know what it was; his dad had never taken him to any. He had just walked up plastic steps and was sitting on a grate, watching it rain.
He was drenched head to toe, but he didn’t care. He loved the water. He wore a dark blue hoodie and jeans, along with some regular tennis shoes-people were going to think he was quite silly with all of it soaking wet, and his shoes would squeal...he’d probably just take them off walking back inside, he didn’t want any funny looks.
He glanced up to the sky, wondering if it would rain again-but it was starting to clear already. Sighing, he stood and trudged back down the steps; not knowing what the slide even was.
The puddle glinted in the sunlight that peeked through, and a wide grin spread across his face. Not even bothering to see who was around, he leapt for the puddle and splashed in it, deciding to make a game out of it. He jumped from puddle to puddle seeing how big a splash he could make, grinning sand giggling all the while-having a merry old time.
