There was only one thing he missed about back home, and that was one girl. He hadn't really thought about her in a while but seeing all these people running into each others arms, he thought about her. He was a play boy who never really settled on one girl, except this one. She had been the one that got away. He'd taken her on a few dates, but she'd never really let him in. Then he got sent to this boarding school in the middle of nowhere, and there was no way he'd ever claim her as his. So he'd just have to find some new fans to fall in love with him, whatever the cost. Right now though, he had to pretend he cared and so he'd actually showed up to English class. It was a stupid language and he had some stupid interested in old things teacher, who was almost as excitable as the history teacher. The only cool teacher in the whole place was the gym teacher. The librarian was too short and always had his head stuck in books. The culinary arts teacher was cute, but he'd seen her slinking around with some older guy-there was no way he'd get her into a compromising position...plus older women were gross. He sighed, flipping through his notebook and a note from the girl fell out. It didn't say much, just 'hey wanna skip class next period together?' His little rebel in disguise...god he missed Charlotte. She was the only one who really got him. He never had accepted to go out to the barn with her, said it was childish...he really had probably hurt her feelings with that one. Maybe if she asked again, if she was here right now, he'd go with her. He smirked though-that was never going to happen. He started drumming on the table with his pen, waiting for the damn bell to ring and get this stupid class over with. jenn

[/div] As Charlotte walked through the halls of Quasar Academy, she couldn’t believe she was once again the new kid at school. This had to be her fourth or fifth boarding school that her parents had shipped her off to. She was through getting kicked out of schools, clearly it wasn’t working. She was going to have to figure out some other way to get their attention. Charlotte knew it was only a matter of time before she did, it was just the way her brain worked. Until then, Charlotte would keep her head down. Well, at least as much as she could. She couldn’t help if she just seemed to attract trouble. Looking down at the schedule in her hand, she saw that her next class was English. It was actually one of the few classes she enjoyed, although she’d never admit to it. But through reading she was able to escape this world and dive into another universe for a little while. Sighing, she carefully re-folded her schedule and placed it back in the pocket of her backpack before walking towards the classroom. She ignored the stares of the students she passed, clearly wondering who this new girl was. Charlotte wanted to keep everyone wondering. She knew that was how you got popular: you let people talk until everyone knows your name. Once inside the assigned classroom, Charlotte scanned the room for an empty seat. However, her eyes landed on a familiar face. Charlie blinked a few times, sure that she was imagining things, but as sure as day, her lover from a past school was sitting in a desk, right in front of her. Their fling was brief, she was kicked out of that school after only a few months, but it was passionate. Cameron was the only reason why she was sad to leave. Charlotte still didn’t quite believe her eyes, so before she called out, she wanted to get a closer look. But as she approached, there was no denying that face. Once she was standing next to his next, she said incredulously, “Cameron? What are you doing all the way over here?!” A genuine smile, one that wasn’t seen very often, lit up her face as she waited for him to respond. ------------------------------------- tag - Ostrich , words - 377 , notes - , lyrics – only prettier by miranda lambert , clothes – this , credit - MISS JEY of Shadowplay [/ul]

Cameron’s eyes grew wider as she walked in the room. Surely she was a mirage that he just put different clothes on that he’d seen in a catalog. He blinked a few times before slowly turning to face the front of the classroom, feeling like he’d just seen a ghost. There was no way that it was her, all the way out here. Surely he was just super imposing her face on someone else, like happens in movies. Yea that’s all it was. They’d sit down they’d think he was cool and they’d give him their number. He smirked at the thought of it, only to here her voice call out to him. He turned and looked at her, standing there next to his desk. It really was her; and here he’d been wishing she would appear. Maybe the place really was magical. He couldn’t help himself-and cause he was trying to hide his bright red blush from her; he stood up and hugged her. “Oh Charlotte, you being here in this prison with me will make it so much better.” It was fake whining, she knew that from hanging out before. He laughed as he pulled away, looking into her beautiful eyes. “Guess my parents wanted my further away from them, or whatever. What about you? Did our shenanigans not go over well so your parents tried to send you where I wouldn’t be?” He laughed as he Sat back down. “Backfire much, eh?” He looked back up to her and waited for her to reply.

[/div] Cameron seemed just as surprised she was about ending up at Quasar Academy. He stared at her for a moment, as if making sure that she was real, before jumping up and hugging her. It felt so good to have his arms around her again. Charlotte couldn’t help but take a deep breath, and was happy to discover he was still wearing the same cologne he had when they first met. She rolled her eyes and pushed him away at his words, but her smile remained as she told him, “Oh hush you, ya’ll just being silly now.” Still, although she’d never admit it, Charlotte was glad by his reaction. She hoped it meant that he had missed her as much as she had missed him. At the mention of her parents, Charlotte rolled her eyes again, but even the thought of them couldn’t ruin her current mood. Her grin became more mischievous as she told him, “Oh sweetie, you had nothing to do with that equation. The silly smoke detectors in that last hell hole caught wind of my candles and set the smoke alarms off. No amount of mommy and daddy’s money could make them keep me.” Grabbing his hand and squeezing it gently, she continued, “Although they won’t be pleased to find out we’ve been reunited. We did cause that last place quite the headache, didn’t we?” Memories of the trouble they had caused flashed quickly in her mind, making Charlie grin wider. Being reunited with Cameron opened up so many more possibilities that Charlotte hadn’t realized were going to be possible at Quasar. Knowing that class was going to be starting soon, Charlotte sat down in the desk immediately in front of Cameron, purposefully so he could look at her the entire class. Placing her backpack underneath the chair, she spun so that she was sitting sideways and could face Cameron before asking, “So, what’s the deal with Quasar Academy?” Her lips frowned in disdain subconsciously at the mere mention of the school. Which, quite frankly, wasn’t entirely fair. She hadn’t even given the school a real chance. She was just bitter about being shipped away once again. Her blue eyes remained focused on Cameron’s face, waiting for a response. ------------------------------------- tag - Ostrich , words - 374 , notes - Wooo my muse is finally starting to wake up XD , lyrics – only prettier by miranda lambert , clothes – this , credit - MISS JEY of Shadowplay [/ul]

Cameron made a quick glance to the clock, and then a look to his teacher, who was furiously scratching things across the chalk board. He grinned as he turned his attention back to Charlotte, listening to her. He watched as she pulled away, longing for her touch as she did but not letting his fingers linger too long-he didn't need to look desperate. He laughed at her comment about the candles, he could just see them running from the terrifying flames, all the girls shrieking as the water sprayed down from above like a rainstorm inside. It was no wonder they got rid of her; setting fire to a place and setting off the sprinklers would put a lot of damage on the bill. He couldn't help but smirk at her mention of their time at Quasar doing naughty things of various degree, and his eyes lit up at all the possibilities of fun they could have at Quasar. Perhaps she'd even like Derek, and they could start up a band of ruckus together in the quad. It was a rhetorical question that she asked, so he didn't answer. He twitched slightly when she took a seat, wanting to bolt for the door, but slowly sank back into the seat and glanced at the clock again. He looked back to her again as she spun around, lost in the ocean of her blue eyes for a moment before blinking and snapping out of it at her question. "I've heard some weird rumors; it doesn't seem to be as hum drum as that last place, that's for sure." He brushed his hand against hers on the back of her chair, leaning over his desk to whisper to her. "What say you and I find out and blow this popsicle stand? They can't throw us out on the first day because we 'couldn't find' our class, now can they?" Time was ticking by for them to hurry up, the drone of the chalk against the board echoing in the room with Cameron's heart beat. He wanted the rush of running out of the door with her again.
