OOC: We'll have to do some liquid time with doing a night/jenn thread since I said the foal was a few months old, but here we go. You're playing the foal, aren't you? She was exhausted still, but was too scared not to go straight back to the herd lands. She had enough energy to fend off attackers should they come. Her body still ached from the birth; every part below her stomach, and even her stomach too, was in knots. She felt like she had been gone so long and that she would have worried Dante. She wished she had been stronger, but alas...the first birthing of her very first foal was a little harder than predicted. She could not imagine so much beauty came from such pain, but here he stood. He walked behind her on slightly wobbly legs, keeping in step with his mother. She had gone to the land that most mares seemed to go, an idea that was quite silly in practice, but she did not want Dante to hear her pained screams as she knew what his reaction may have been. He probably would've felt guilty for causing her this much pain, but she was perfectly fine with that after seeing what it produced. "Where's my soul mate? Let me hear you sing, mate.."Her voice trailed off as an after contraction wracked through her, but she kept on, nickering to the colt. "Come meet your son, little Moulin Rouge, struttin his stuff through the terrain, he says hey dad come say hi to me..."Her song was a bit more pained and strained than her normal song, due to her tired nature. But still, she sang, calling out for her beloved. callie Yes, it's Moulin Rouge Lady Marmalade bastardized.

The colt stumbled behind his mother, still trying to figure out just exactly how his legs worked. His tongue stuck out in concentration as he watched the ground, trying to avoid obstacles that would cause him to fall, as he had done that plenty. He had gotten so caught up in watching his footsteps, that he hadn't noticed his mother come to a halt, and he walked right into her rump. He faltered a bit before shaking his head and looking up at her through dark lashes, nudging her flank gently as if to say sorry. His mother turned and soon, her voice rang out through the new, strange land. Rouge wondered where they were, and why there was a scent that seemed oddly familiar. Within moments, the sound of hoof beats echoed in the distance, spooking him. The colt hid behind him mother, cautiously peaking out from behind her the colt looked around trying to find the source of the sound, her tail hiding his most of his face. Dante
The golden stag had worn a path around the perimeter of his lands from pacing, anxiously awaiting the return of his beloved. She had disappeared sometime during the night awhile ago, and it had sent Dante into a panic. He knew she was close to foaling, and he had a gut feeling that's what she had gone off to do, but it still worried him. He knew that she didn't want him to see her in pain, and Dante cringed at the thought. He just wanted her back. He had paused from his pacing for a moment, when her sweet voice reached his auds. At last! She was home! He let out a shrill whinny, letting her know that he had heard her. He took off at a gallop, trying to get to her as fast as he possibly could, kicking up his heels to let out a few excited bucks, a broad smile spread across his face. At long last, she finally came into view, and he slowed to a quick jog, only slowing once he reached her to gently nudge her soft maw with his. "Oh my darling, how I've missed you so." He inhaled her scent deeply, snorting softly as he smelt a new scent mixed with hers. Dante stepped back, and glanced around, trying to find the source of the new scent. A deep chuckle left his lips as he noticed the tiny foal peaking out from the strands of her tail. Pride swelled in his chest as he stepped forward, slowly reaching out his maw to gently touch his son's, trying not to scare him even more. "Cadence... He's perfect." He spoke softly and stepped back, nuzzling her side. OOC: It's finished Ostrich

OOC: Song by Jose Mari Chan, Tell Me your name (although a little bit changed, obviously ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jj9sPtynfwIC: She giggled lightly as the colt hid behind there, and turned her head to look at him; flicking her tail so that her tassles landed framing his snout, hiding his eyes. Before Dante had arrived, she had turned back and was looking at him straight; as if she was trying to hide something. But the happy go lucky mare knew that it would be too much to hide the little colt from her beloved, and as he chuckled she giggled. The pair seemed to make a small bond, and so she sidestepped away from Dante to reveal the colt; her tail acting like a curtain going up on a stage play. She knew her son wouldn't quite break out in song as if it was an opera or a musical, but she couldn't help prancing in place and nudging her son, wanting him to introduce himself to his father. Finding the words and the rhythm, she pulled slightly away, doing a piroutte as she shimmied and looked to her son; her angelic voice hanging in the air. "Tell him your name, my lovely- just when I thought this would the pain would never be over, you came into this world; you looked at me and smiled- my heart was in love, all over again."She glanced to Dante, she could feel her cheeks growing flushed at the thought, but it was true. She had two beautiful loves in her life now, and she wouldn't trade it for the world. She winced as she tried to do a little hop and the pain still was there, but she didn't care and continued on. "Can you imagine this- the confusion- of our little ones first drink, A return to wondering If the magic of love was this You merely said hello And my mind did a stop and go Can it possibly be The future for me is us..."She smiled warmingly as it seemed even the birds chimed in, whistling along. "Tell him your name, he must know- won't you tell him your name..."Judging by the look she was getting, she giggled and flipping her mane turned away a moment, looking out over the countryside. "I'm not insane, just frightened you might go-"She turned to look at them, almost with tears in her eyes. "Don't go, please stay beside me- wait until I can tell you all of my schemes, chasing rainbows and spinning dreams... Staying with the two that I love..."She reached down to Moulin, nudging his rump gently toward his father. Her voice was softer then. "He's not insane, just as frightened as you; but we'll stay beside him- just wait until we can tell him all of our schemes, chasing rainbows and spinning dreams, just tell him your name... tell him."She looked from Moulin to Dante lovingly, raising her crown up and taking a step back as she looked to them both.

Moulin Rouge
The colt giggled as his mom stepped out from in front of him, fully revealing him to his father. His eyes grew wide as he looked up his father, taking in the full sight of the grand stag, his golden coat shimmering in the fall sun. A soft squeak left the colt’s lip as his mother nudged him forward, encouraging him to say hello.
He shyly took a atep closed to him, his head lowered and teeth clacking, doing the ‘I’m just a baby’ thing. He continued to step closer until he bumped noses with the golden stag. His father’s sized seemed to dwarf the colt.
Rouge playfully nipped at his father and he listened to his mother sing, her sweet voice filling his black tipped auds. Rouge had become very fond of his mother’s voice, but he wasn’t quite sure why she always sang, not that he was complaining. He found her voice very soothing, and it offen lulled him to sleep. The colt turned his attention back to his mother, watching her move and listening to her sweet voice. He peered up at his father before speaking, trying to find his voice. “Moulin Rouge”
Dante’s Inferno
The stallion grinned as his lover revealed the colt that was hiding behind her. The moment the stag laid eyes on the small colt, he knew his life was forever changed. He was absolutely perfect. Dante’s heart swelled with pride and tears began to brim in his eyes. He raised his head and grinned up at Cadence, a large smile plastering his face and she began to sing.
He watched her as she moved, his smile faltering slightly as she winced. He felt so bad for what she had to endure, but he had a feeling that she felt it was highly worth it. He gently nudged the colt back and playfully nipped at his little ruff of forelock, which earne the stallion a bubbling laugh from the colt.
Finally, the colt spoke his name, and Dante tipped his crown, a broad smile appearing across his face. It was simply perfect. Dante then moved closer to the mare, and draped his next over hers, pulling her into him, but not too rough, as he knew she was still stiff. He released her and stepped back, turning to look at their son, taking everything in. How could he have managed to live such a perfect life? He sighed softly and gentle lipped at her mane, keeping a close eye on Rogue as he began to explore his home.

She giggled as the colt timidly made his way toward his father, happy to be a part of both of their lives. They were perfect in every way imaginable, and she could never complain about the company, even though she did grow lonely sometimes. She was tired though, and as much as she tried to hide it in her features it showed in her eyes the simple exhaustion that birthing the colt had brought. They'd need to find him friends eventually, but for now it seemed getting to know his father was enough to entertain the little colt, and perhaps even get to know his mother a little more when she was more attuned and her body was not so...weak. She leaned into Dante's touch, letting him support her a moment. Her foot fall only faltered when he stepped away, and she had to take a step toward him to catch herself. She knew then that she needed rest. She perked up a moment as she thought of an idea, one that would get her some much needed rest and give the boys something to entertain themselves with while she rested here. Her voice started out a bit timid, picking up as she went. Her body did not move as it had before, the fatigue finally getting to her. "Go and show him the world, shining-shimmering-splllendid, go my princes - let your destination be your hearts to decide..."
She looked down to Moulin Rouge, a grin spreading across her features as she nudged his rump now that he faced his father. "He can open your eyes, take you wonder by wonder- over, sideways, and unnnder- on the fresh green grassss..." Her eyes sparkled a little as she remembered the first time that Dante had brought her around to show her their new home. Her voice picked up just a little, the wind carrying it and causing it to rustle amongst the trees, the birds chirping along in the underbrush. "A whole new world - a new fantastic pooooint of view. You have to listen when he says no, he'll show you where is safe to go, you'll wonder if you're only dreaming though...
A whole new world, A dazzling place you never knew, but when I'm way out here, it's crystal clear- this is the perfect world with you..."
She smiles and looked to Dante and Moulin Rouge again, tossing her head with a nicker as if dismissing them to go exploring, for Dante to take their son and leave her be for a little nap. She strained herself to stand, wanting so badly to lay down again but wanting to see them off for their adventure.

Rouge watched as his mother stumbled, concerned for her. He knew they had travelled far, and he’ll admit, he was tired too. But the overwhelming sense to explore easily overtook his tired mind. There was simply so much to see and to do! He kicked up his heels and took off at a speedy canter, jumping over small downed trees, a joyous whinny leaving his lips as he explored, but making sure to stay in sight of his watchful parents.
Dante
The stallion watched as his son took off, stepping closer to his mother, offering himself to lean into him. He could tell she was drained, the strain of birthing their son taking it’s toll on her. His smile faltered a bit, a pang of guilt shooting through him. He nudged her neck softly with his, offering a silent apology as he listened to her beautiful voice float along the breeze. “My dear, rest. I will show him everything our home has to offer. Don’t worry, I’ll try my best to keep him out of trouble.” He spoke softly, nudging her one last time before jumping in to a lazy lope, easily catching up to Rouge.
Playfully nipping at his heels, the stallion urged his son forward, eager to show him the many things to do and to discover here. Dante pondered for a moment for finally deciding where they should go first, and then it hit him. He would take him to the small creek that flowed through the countryside, one of his favorite places to just relax and unwind.
Dante began to take the lead, making sure not to go to fast so Rouge wouldn’t get left behind.
