Personality
Luci does try to bring her personality down to the level where most others might find 'acceptable,' but considering her very type A personality, it can be a bit hard. She is bossy, she is sassy, and by all means she is loud and will not go unheard. She is very dedicated to her task as a cook, and makes sure to cook the healthiest and tastiest things known to the human race. As far as she is concerned; if it doesn't taste good, or isn't good for you-then it shouldn't be being put into your body. She is a friend until the bitter end, and will not give up on anyone. She sees the good in everyone around her, no matter how bad off they appear to make themselves. That doesn't mean she will befriend everyone; she is very closed mouth about her past and her roots, and does not open up quickly to people. She can be a bit of a flirt. She has had her share of relationships, but honestly hasn't really decided on what she wants to settle down with. Secretly she always wished she'd meet a boy and end up getting accidentally pregnant; but instead her life went exactly according to plan-maybe because she has the IQ of higher than a rocks. She's still searching for the person to complete her world, and is willing to make a few mistakes along the way.
history
Things that Lucinda won't tell you is that her parents were murdered right before her eyes when she was six years old. The memory haunts her dreams; causing her to wake up screaming and crying in the night; another reason she hasn't quite found the person of her dreams. She grew up in London, hence her strong accent, in one of the orphanages. No one wanted the screaming child; the night terrors that overtook her becoming so strong at times that she would almost be climbing the walls in her sleep, afraid of the monsters under her bed. But as she grew, there was a man. There was a doctor that came to the orphanage, and seemed to chase her fears away with his words. So badly did she want for him to adopt her, so that he might soothe her fears of the night-but he was only the doctor, and nothing more. He didn't want kids, no matter how much she begged.
One of her tasks at the orphanage was to help in the kitchen, which is how she grew for her love of cooking. She never did leave that dreadful place, but perhaps it could have been worse. She got her schooling, did okay in class, and for a time, between the ages of ten and thirteen, the girl was calm and happy.
As her teenage years drew near and puberty hit, she began changing. Louder then, turning into her own. She would boss the smaller kids around; but in a manor that they all appreciated her direction. She would take charge of situations, and when the cook was sick-she would end up taking over in the kitchen. This continued on as she grew as a person, getting asked to school dances and what not, until she graduated.
The doctor still came around, but he was older now. She was eighteen then, and begged him to let her stay with him a while, while she found her footing in the real world-she had no where else to go. But the doctor turned out to be a sick and twisted man, and the nightmares, the horrors of the night came alive two fold. Perhaps that was why she fled to America, to the farthest reaches of Washington state to try and run from the horrors that was the true face of the doctor.
At twenty, she had completed a cooking program at a nearby school in Seattle, and wanting a quiet life she decided to move to the small town of Providence and take up a job as a chef at the boarding school there. She knew much about children's nutrition and what growing bodies needed. Providence seemed a sleepy little town, where the things wouldn't go bump in the night anymore. She liked that it was horse centered; being in the city she had never been able to be around horses, but as any little girl was-she was always fascinated by them.
