Jay Baker With everything that had been going on, Jay felt like he hadn't been out to the barn in ages. He really felt like he'd let Birdie down not coming out. He'd been spending so much time with Vanity and at work that he hadn't had the time to spend with her like he used to. At least now though, Sawyer had trusted him with the keys to his old project car, something him and Birdie used to work on together all the time. With a little help from some friends, Jay had gotten it loaded up into the back of an old stock trailer and hauled it down to the barn. As an agreement with the barn owner, he could leave the car there in exchange for some extra board fees. Since Birdie refused to be in a stall and was on field board, the extra money a month didn't really trouble Jay that much..and it gave him an excuse to disappear out there to go be with Birdie.
It wasn't that he didn't like being home, he loved being home with Vanity. But, sometimes he felt like he was smothering her. He wasn't used to the intense feelings he felt for her...and he didn't want to overcrowd her and make her run away. Besides, she would need her own time to process, and her two police horses stayed out at the barn when they weren't working, so she'd be out here too some of the time. It would all end up okay.
Jay was just walking into the lot as he let loose a whistle. It wasn't a real special whistle, wasn't even a very good whistle, but Birdie knew the second she heard it. He could see her as just a bay dot on the other side of the pasture, and then she stuck her head up; a dot with a line coming out of it, and then a whinny escaped her that could've shook the gates of heaven. Yep, she'd seen her human. Jay chuckled and picked up a little jog to the gate as he could see she was doing the same-at a much faster pace. He glanced to the car as he passed; it was under an tin roof equipment shed where they had a few barrels and fence posts and barbed wire, and then the beat up old ford mustang he'd been working on. It was his grandfathers, hadn't ran in years and had been needing new parts even before Sawyer made him move out to an island in the middle of nowhere. Though look what he'd found himself? Sawyer was right to move him out here. He got to the gate just a moment before Birdie did. At first, she pressed her nose up against his face and snorted, lipping at his hair. Then she took a step back and stared at him, stomping a hoof, as if to say 'where the hell have you been, human?'

[attr="class","oho"] Use your mind Take control If you really want it, the world is yours [attr="class","monalisa"]Carralynn shook her blue hair out of the ponytail that it had been pulled back into as she slid out of the passenger side of the truck. Preston, the barn manager had been nice enough to pick her up from the dock this afternoon and was happy to help her get her stuff unloaded. Although all Carra had was really her backpack with a few sets of clothes in and a pair of combat boots as she was already wearing her cowboy boots. And all her mare Arch Enemy had was just a saddle, a bridle, a halter, and a lead rope. Carra had nothing else to her name. Although as she unloaded Arch as Preston rounded the back of the trailer, she had everything under control. "Thank you Mr. Harrison." She gave a polite smile as she tacked her mare up. Preston nodded and closed the end of the trailer to park it away.
Carra wasn't sure were to start, this barn was more organized than the ranch she had previously been on, but the architecture was older than ever. She liked it. She went to walk Arch to the barn but a light shimmer of red caught her attention. Just under a machine shed sat a beautiful red mustang, it looked a little worn and the hood was popped, but it caused her to start walking toward it, Arch in tow. The mare didn't mind going where her "mommy" took her. And that's what Carra was to Arch Enemy, her mommy.
When the sixteen year old was at the car, she looked around the only person hanging around was a man at the paddock with a mustang of his own. She smiled, maybe he wasn't so new around here and could show her some of the most fun trails. She started walking toward him but stopped before holding herself higher than before. "Excuse me." She said with a brilliant smile. "Do you happen to know which of the trails are the best?" made by Mizo of ww. Jay jumped slightly when the girl appeared at his side. She didn't look that old, but given her hair and her tattoo, she didn't look like she was just a kid anyway. A rebellious twenty something, maybe. But then, Jay had never been very good at judging age. And he didn't call her sir, which means she was either a disrespectful child, or was about his age. But, having her call him sir would make him feel old. He glanced over his shoulder at the horse trailer, as Birdie snorted and leaned her head over the fence, eyeing the girl. She didn't look too awful, though didn't look edible either. She snorted to the girl, wanting to be left alone with her boy, but knowing he was too nice to shoo the girl away for such things. "Just get into the stable?" Jay mused, spotting the horse trailer and giving a quick wave to Preston as he was unloading things. He looked over to the girl, then ran his hand over Birdie, talking to the horse now. There was a certain twinkle in his eyes as he did it, like this was his special girl. "Wanna go for a trail ride, Birdie girly? Not exactly what I had in mind for the day, but it'll do." He turned his attention back to the girl, still running his hand over Birdie's ears. "Birdie and I know em, sure. Birdie better than I do, I tend to ah, get a little lost on them." He smirked and gave her a wink. Drinking a little and working on his car was what he'd planned to do, and of course sharing with Birdie. There was a whole six pack though, that would be enough for two people on the trails probably...right?

Carra nodded to his comment about the new to the stable. "Well you should take me on some. Just getting to the island is troubling when you don't know where to relax." She chuckled, god that old man was so gullible. She wondered if this guy would be so too, to play into her hands, this guy seemed like a party guy, maybe they could have a nice party on the trail too. made by Mizo of ww. "Um, sure. We can do that." He closed the hood of the car down and looked to Birdie, glancing at the six pack of beer sitting in the front passenger side. "Go uh, get your horse ready and I'll meet you back here." He'd have to talk Birdie up with the trail pad his brother had given him. He thought he could carry some water, a cell phone, and all those things you should carry for emergencies...what did Jay do with it? Use it for beer. It wasn't quite as bad as drinking and driving, and he should completely know better, but sometimes out on the trails shit just got creepy and he needed something to calm his nerves. He glanced to the girl a moment, wondering if she was old enough. If she had her own horse and everything, and was out here on her own; surely that must mean that she was...right? Little Jay, always making messes of things. He led Birdie toward the barn to get her tack on her and groom her off. "Whatcha think Birdie, think she's old enough?" Birdie snorted; she had met Vanity a few times and before Vanity...Jay had been a bit of a player. What Birdie was thinking is that Jay meant for him to sleep with. "Get your mind out of the gutter I meant to drink." He playfully smacked the horse and picked her hooves before going into the tack room and grabbing the tack for her. He didn't always use it, but it made carrying the beer easier. Before ten minutes had passed, he was already back out to the car, slipping the cans into the trail pad evenly on both sides; three in each. He looked around for the girl again.

[attr="class","oho"] Use your mindTake control If you really want it, the world is yours [attr="class","monalisa"]Carra's fingers ran over Arch Enemy's bridle and rein's she was ready to go before Jay even asked her. She watched as he tacked his horse up. She smiled and stroked her mare's neck. Quickly she picked up the last can of beer and handed it to Jay. This was going to be so much fun. Once she was sure he was packed and ready she mounted Arch Enemy with ease and sat high in the western saddle.
She smiled at him, an innocent smile before riding up beside him. "Well shall we get going?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. "I guess before we go, I should introduce myself right? I'm Carralynn Abbadon and this is my Mustang mare Arch Enemy." She didn't extend her hand but instead kept them on the reins. made by Mizo of ww. jenn I dun forgot...I figured she could either see the beer being put in or whatever and walk over and be like hey can I come too? Yea I’m of age “Jesus fucking Christ!” He said as her hand appeared out of seemingly nowhere to grab the last bottle and hand it to him. He squeaked, then calmed himself before looking at her wide eyed. Birdie in the background staring at them before rolling her eyes. “You scared the shit out of me.” Jay put the bottle into the bag and closed it up. He smiled as she introduced herself, extending his hand to her. “I’m Jay, and this here is T-bird. Oddly enough she’s a mustang too.” He got up on the hood of his car and mounted her, not liking doing it from the ground cause it put too much strain. And he didn’t want her to see how bad off he actually was already. He smiled innocently to her, before glancing to his ring finger and smiling. He glanced to Carra, and completely nonchalant but serious mentioned... “No funny business, alright? I’m an almost married man with a baby, and she’s a cop by the way.” Oh if only poor little daft Jay thought it through better. “Now, obviously you saw the beer...you’re old enough right?”

Charlotte was starting to get stir crazy on the small island. Everything about it was small. The school was so tiny, there were hardly any kids attending, which meant next to no drama. There were no good shopping spots and just one coffee shop, which, Charlie hated to admit, was actually a cool place. So, Charlotte spent all of her free time at the barn, because it was the only thing that was keeping her sane at this point. Today was no different. She had worked Bella pretty hard the last few days, so Charlotte’s plan was to take it easy and just trail ride. Charlotte had just exited the barn, reins in hand and Bella following closely behind, when she saw two people with horses, shoving beer bottles into saddle bags. Grinning, Charlotte knew that these were people that she wanted to meet. They clearly knew how to have a good time. It was true that Charlie was way underage at 16 years old, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t had a sip of alcohol before. Quite the opposite, actually. Beer, of course, wasn’t her first choice. Charlie preferred liquor. But beggars couldn’t be choosey, especially when they weren’t old enough to buy themselves. Confidently, Charlotte walked up to where they were standing. Once within a few feet, she called out, “Well howdy ya’ll, are you guys looking to hit the trails?” A mischievous glimmer sparkled in her eyes, already knowing the answer to that question. What else would they being doing with beer? Charlotte was hoping to get an invite, but she also wasn’t above inviting herself. She gently patted Bella’s chestnut and white neck, waiting for a response from either of them. Tagged: RileyCasper and OstrichWord count: 285 Notes: XD

Carra smiled at his surprise. If all men on this island were this easy it was going to be WAY too fun around here. She gave a light chuckle as he mentioned no funny business and she raised her hands as if to say, no objections from me. She chuckled at the fact his fiance was a cop and he was about to share a few beers with a minor.
At his next question she kept her smile and nodded, "Of course, wouldn't I be in school right now if I wasn't?" Laying it on a bit thick wasn't she? Rolling her eyes she looked toward the girl that just spoke. "Of course, this handsome man was just about to show me the best ones." She said, maybe a bit too flirtatiously. "Would you like to come?" She asked, the girl looked to be about her age. At least she could make another friend other than Ramona.

He blinked as another girl walked up, eyes growing wide. Birdie's ears flicked, obviously slightly annoyed it wasn't just the two of them hanging out. She knew that she wouldn't win an argument though, so it wasn't like she could really protest. Jay seemed flustered at first, but then got his bearings. "Indeed we were, miss." It was Carra who stepped up and took over talking to the girl, to Jay's surprise. Better to let girl's handle the girl talk honestly. "Now wait a minute. Just cause you're not in school doesn't mean you're legal yet. You graduate at 18, legal drinking age is 21." His cheeks flushed a bright pink when she said the word handsome, it reached all the way into his ears. He rubbed the back of his neck and just smiled a moment before turning to Birdie and patting her. "Girls are going to be the death of me some day aren't they, Birdie?" He shrugged and climbed up on Birdie's back, forgetting the whole conversation about age ever happened. It was easy to distract Jay...
