[/div] It had been a long, hard journey. Rosepetal had lost count of how many days she had traveled, but she had spent the majority of them running, resting only at night under the cover of darkness. Well, napping at least. Rosie hadn’t been at ease since her escape. She still wasn’t sure how she managed to get so lucky. The storm’s drastic arrival seemed to perfect, with its heavy rains and distracting tornado. Everyone in the herd was concerned about finding coverage for safety, including the stallion, so Rosepetal had been able to escape without notice. Rosie, of course, wasn’t questioning the extreme weather. She was thankful for it, because it had allowed her to escape the hell she’d been living in for the last five years. Although Rosie had slowed to a walk for almost an hour ago, her legs still felt like they were going to give out any minute now. Gazing up at the sky, she saw that she didn’t have much daylight anyway. And, after looking around, she saw that this was as good a place as any to stop for the night. It was wide open, so she’d at least see if anyone was coming, but there were enough trees that she didn’t feel like she’d be an open target for predators. Or worse, her abuser. After scanning the land to ensure that she was alone, Rosie lowered her head and began to ferociously graze, replenishing the energy expended during the day’s journey. She could feel her anxiety beginning to bubble in the pit of her stomach, uncomfortable with remaining in one place for long. Rosie didn’t notice the clouds beginning to form, hiding the sun from view. Rosie was too busy grazing, her ears in constant movement, trying to pick up any sort of noise. ------------------------------------- tag - open! , words - 301 , notes - , lyrics - landslide by fleetwood mac, credit - MISS JEY of Shadowplay [/ul]

"The hills are alive...with the sound of musssssiiicccc..." She should not have slipped away as she had, Dante would be both worried and furious with her upon her return-but as much as she loved him, as much as she loved their home...she could not help the part of her that wanted so desperately to explore. And so the petite form of the blue roan fae had slipped away into the dusk while Dante had been watching over their young one, Moulin Rouge. He was only a few months old, but was full of energy. She just...she needed a girl's night, she needed to sing, she needed the thing she held highest; only ranked lower than love in her heirarchy of needs....freedom. She knew sometimes it was better to ask forgiveness than permission...especially since Dante would never have agreed to let her go out. Not with the storms that had been happening. Her petite voice cared strongly over the land, ringing in the ears of all that were within range. Several of the wildlife raised their heads, looking upon her as she pranced along, head held high as she made her own acapella beats on the ground with her hoofs. To her, it seemed that the chorus of the grasses and the whispering winds in the trees rubbed together to make an orchestra. She did not need the man made contraptions they called instruments, for she had her own world to play the music for her. And as she sang, it carried her to a place she had never been; the acres of love. She had not needed them to find her beloved Dante; and she did not quite intend for her hooves to carry her that way...but here she was, being carried forward, as if a string was pulling her toward something. And she continued to sing as she went, radiating emotions of love away from her, causing the plants about her to perk up even as they were tucking down for the night and curling in. "With songs they have sung for a thousand years, the hilllls fill my heart with the sound of mussssic..." Her voice grew louder the further she went, as if she was almost trying to call out to her beloved Dante to show him her love for him and their child, to show she would return but shortly. "My heart wants to sing every soooong it hears, my heeeaaart wants to beat like the wings of the birdsss..." As she sang it, a chorus of chirping joined in from one of the few trees that scattered the land. With a gentle giggle, she made her way toward it, and not a moment as she reached her muzzle toward it a young robin hopped onto her cranium. She grinned, and sang a bit softer now; one for the birds sake, and two because her ears were now flicking as she could have sworn she heard something. She glanced to the bird on her head, and made her way toward the sound and a proud walk. "That rise from the lake to the trees-" The little bird chirped and pulled at her forelock a little in fright, drawing her attention to the sky. She frowned, but only for a moment. There was a storm coming and Dante would be furious with her to have made him worry, but now that she was closer she smelled the scent of a lone mare. The lone mare would need a place to stay for the storm, and what better place than with Dante, Moulin, and her? Singing gently, and in a calming voice-so that the bird chirped once more and snuggled down into her forelock as if it was its new nest, she picked up the song again. "My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies, from a church...on a breeze..." The other mare was in view now, and she gave a gentle whinny to show she meant no harm. She kept singing, radiating from herself the peace of self that she felt inside. "To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over stones...on its way...to singggg..." She stood about ten feet away from the mare now, giving her a soft nicker as her ears flicked forward toward her. She was careful not to jostle her head for the bird that seemed to now be sleeping amongst her mane, but she did bow her head a little to the fae to show once more she meant her no ill will. She stood perfectly still, though the music seemed to fill her with a want of dance, the mare seemed to desire silence and piece. She glanced to the sky, and then to the fae once more. A gentle note came from her lips then, carried on a gust of wind to the mare. Though the song was gentle, and perhaps spoke of sinister things, the way that Cadence sung it instilled a calm upon the land that it didn't have before. A calm she hoped would be instilled in the mare as well. "Hello darkness my old friend...I've come to talk with you again, because a vision softly creeping...left it's seeds while I was sleeping, and the viiissioon, that was planted in my brain...still remains, within the sounds...of silence..." A soft gust blew causing her mane and tail to flutter in the breeze, and with a bit of a squeal the bird hopped down and flapped its wings away toward the tree from whence it came. Lowering her crown nearly to the ground, keeping her ears pricked forward, with a soft nicker she approached the other mare; mostly to make sure she was alright.

A somewhat thick fog was creeping into the Grasslands, hiding the Grulla stallion from anyone's sight. He hadn't planned to go this far from his beloved beach that he had claimed for himself. As the wind picked up, and rain started to pour from the heavens with an unrelenting force, Hercules put his head down and continued to trudge on, his fog being blown away with the winds. He could have kept them around him, but it would have used up too much precious energy, energy he would need to woo a lovely mare and lead her safely back to his home.
The further into the Grasslands he got, the more he started to wonder if he'd ever be able to find someone he could hopefully woo and protect. Just as he was wanting to give up for the day, he caught the sound of someone... singing? He pricked his head up, closing his eyes against the rain as he followed the sound. Lowering his head against the rain once more. Not much further and he caught sight of the one who was singing, it looked like a little blue roan mare, he pricked up again believing that his luck had turned around.
What truly caught his eye though, was the red road mare. He couldn't look away from her as she ferociously grazed. It reminded him of someone who had traveled quite a long ways. Slowly moving towards the mares, he spoke out gently, raising his voice so it could be heard over the storm.
"Are you lovely ladies alright? One should seek shelter from this storm.. I know of a nearby cave." He realized how badly that probably sounded as he spoke again. "I mean no ill will, I only wish to please and protect others. I could not allow two lovely maidens before me to catch a cold while out in the rain, it goes against my moral code..."

[/div] For the first time since Rosie had left the herd, her constant vigilance paid off. It started as a whisper, traveling on the back of a gust of wind. Her delicate head immediately snapped up from grazing, looking around the land for a source of the noise. Her muscles were taunt underneath her coat, ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice. As the adrenaline pumped through her veins, any sense of fatigue immediately disappeared. But, the sound was brief, and all that Rosie was left with was the sound of her heart pounding in her chest. The clouds began to let loose their tears, and hid anything that could be lurking at a distance. However, orbs did not pick up any source of movement nearby, and so hesitantly, Rosie lowered her head again and began grazing once more, chalking the noise up to her own paranoia. Not even five minutes passed before the sound reached Rosie’s ears again. Head snapped up to attention as she frantically searched the land, her dark mane now being picked up in the wind. Rosepetal was sure that she wasn’t imagining things. Only one thought entered her mind: he had found her. Somehow, he had been able to trace her travels, and he was going to psychologically torture her before dragging her back to where she came. Rosie was frozen in fear. Even if she had been able to talk her body into moving, Rosepetal was unable to determine which direction the noise was coming from. The wind carried it and the large valley echoed, making it impossible for Rosie to know for sure she wasn’t running right back to him. Slowly, a figure began to emerge from rain. It quickly became apparent that it wasn’t the stallion coming to find her, much to Rosepetal’s surprise. Instead, Rosie watched as a young mare walked towards her. As she came closer, Rosie realized that the noise she had been hearing was, in fact, the mare singing. If she still wasn’t so terrified, Rosie probably would have laughed at her mistake. Instead, she watched warily as the mare continued to approach. For all she knew, the mare was in cohorts with her abuser, and it was still all a trap. That thought was pushed further out of her mind as the mare, much to Rosie’s relief, stopped a good distance away. The mare didn’t say anything directly to Rosepetal, but instead, allowed her song to carry. Rosie wasn’t quite sure why, but she could feel her anxiety starting to ebb, starting to believe that she might be finally safe. That relief was short-lived as the sound of another approaching met Rosie’s ears. The anxiety that had been retreating began to bubble again. The rain, previously a light drizzle, became steady, creating a shushing noise the drops made contact with nearby leaves. It had to be him, Rosepetal was sure of it. But, alas, after a moment, she realized she was wrong. Although panic was still coursing through her brain, Rosepetal was able to make out the differences. This stallion was taller and had a darker coat than her abuser. And one thing Rosie knew for sure, he hadn’t sent this stallion. There was no way he would accept help from another male, not when he killed all others that stood in his path. In a shaky and feeble voice, Rosie managed to call out to him, “I’m…fine.” It was all she could manage, she still couldn’t quite think straight to create coherent sentences. ------------------------------------- tag - Ostrich night , words - 588 , notes - I don't know where my muse came from but I'll take it XD , lyrics - landslide by fleetwood mac, credit - MISS JEY of Shadowplay [/ul]

Cadence's heart dropped as she noticed how nervous she was making the mare, and though her auds pricked forward, she knew she would not ever be able to convince the mare to come meet Dante and Moulin with her. The mare seemed nervous about something, and as hoofbeats quickened toward them once more...Cadence picked up on the mares unease and her ears pinned back. She stepped closer to the mare, going to protect her from whatever demon the mare had conjured up. But she seemed to relax far quicker with the stallion that approached than she had with Cadence, and in this she accepted her defeat. She should not have let her legs carry her away from Dante, from Moulin Rouge...she should have stayed with them at home, where she would be safe and warm. With the storm coming, she should be getting back to them anyway. Her ears flicked back to the stallion's words-he talked too much. Dante spoke, but it was...different. This stallion seemed...Cadence rarely disliked someone, but this stallion she instantly disliked. She did not respond at first, but looked to the mare as she spoke. The voice Cadence heard brought sorrow to her heart. The way she said the word fine...it exuded that she wasn't quite, and that only made Cadence yearn more to keep her safe, to show her what a true family was. "There was a boy...a very strange, enchanted boy..." Her voice lifted gently as she lowered her crown, her muzzle nearly touching the ground as she approached the mare. She would stand between her and the stallion, for the stallion made her uncomfortable. If the mare so choose to follow him, then that was the mare's choice. But until such a time, she would protect the scared little mare, in case the stallion's words were all tom foolery and there was darkness hiding within him. The song she sung...it warmed her heart as she thought of Dante and of their beautiful son. "They say he wandered very far, over land and sea...a little child...and sailed about, but very wise waaass he..." One eye was trained on the stallion, gazing his reaction, as she kept her head low now that she stood beside the mare. Her voice lifted, seeming to drive the shadows away for a moment as she thought of her beloveds back home and how much love they would share with this timid little mare. "And then one day...one magic day...he passed my way, and while we spoke of maaanyy things...fools and kingss...this he said, too me..." She drew in a breath, her gaze leaving the stallion for a moment to look up to the mare, but she did not lift her head. Her eyes fluttered closed as she imagined her home, and of all the wonderful things Dante had said to her..and how much care they would take of this mare, and how much of a part of the family she would become... "The greatest thing...you'll ever learn..." She opened her eyes, a wary gaze falling upon the stallion again, one eye still on the mare. "Is just to love...and be loved...in returrrrrrnnnn...."
She did not know the mare's history, and she likely would not have asked or brought it up as it seemed to trouble the mare. All she could do was to offer her friendship and whatever protection she could offer. If it was protection the fae sought; she would likely choose the stallion, as he was far more equipped to do so...Cadence had never fought a battle, never defended anyone, but would do so with her life if need be. Nor could she really speak ill of the stallion, for she had never met him before. But perhaps even she was picking up on the mare's unease, and found the stallion a little too welcoming...a little too eager to whisk them away. She knew she never should have left Dante and Moulin Rouge. But she had, and she would have to see this mare off either with her to Dante, or in comfort with the stallion.

Hercules watched both of the mares, noticing that there seemed a bit of tension in the area as he took a couple of steps back, almost as if he could tell that the beautiful roan had been through some hard times and didn't quite trust him. He flicked his tail as he kept his body language calm and as relaxed as possible.
"May I know the name of the beautiful maiden in front of me?" He kept his kind eyes on Rosie, wondering what her story was. He had never really liked seeing a mare like her be wary of others, so much so that it pulled on his own heartstrings. He decided that if she was going to allow him, he'd want nothing more than to give her happiness and comfort. He didn't know why she was this way, but he wanted to fix it. Knowing full well everyone deserved their own piece of happiness.
He bowed in front of both mares again before standing at his full height. Not that he could be considered all that tall really. He looked at the mare that was singing, wondering about her as she seemed a bit strange to him, but she was pretty nonetheless. He would be kind to her, but he could smell the scent of another stallion on her, and thus knew she was not his for the taking.

[/div] So focused on the new stallion, that Rosepetal hadn’t realized that the mare had moved. It wasn’t until she started singing again that Rosie moved her gaze away from the stallion to see that the mare had strategically placed herself between Rosie and the stallion, her head low and non-threatening. The simple action warmed Rosie’s heart. The mare was young looking, there was no possible way she was older than Rosepetal. Nor was she much bigger than Rosie. And yet, here was a complete stranger, putting her own safety at risk to protect her. Rosepetal hadn’t seen such kindness since her parents’ deaths. Rosie could smell the scent of another stallion on her coat, despite the rain, and her actions were almost enough to make Rosepetal follow her home. Almost. Rosie didn’t know her stallion, and couldn’t risk falling into the same trap she had been in. Gaze was brought back to where the stallion stood as he spoke again. Rosepetal noticed that he, too, had moved from his previous spot. However, his movement was backwards, which Rosie appreciated. He spoke kind words, but Rosepetal was still unsure of his intentions. He seemed harmless. His words had a strange inflection, but his words emanated kindness. His body language did not show any ill-will towards her as well. He had seen how uncomfortable he had made Rosie and gave her more space, something she knew not all stallions would have done. But, Rosie didn’t completely trust him yet. For all she knew, this was all an act to try and steal her away to his herd. She couldn’t spend any more time in a herd against her will, tortured day in and day out. She would not allow herself to be in another situation like her prior one. Rosepetal saw no harm in answering the stallion’s question, though, and responded hoarsely, “Rosepetal. But you can call me Rosie.”The adrenaline was beginning to exit Rosepetal’s veins as she came to the realization that she wasn’t in an immediate danger, and the tiredness was starting to set in again. She could still feel her muscles taunt, ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice, but her legs were beginning to shake as the lactic acid began to build up again in her muscles. At this moment, she wanted nothing more than to refuel and rest. Rosie wasn’t sure yet if she would find homes with either of the equines standing nearby, or if she would continue running. Rosie knew she couldn’t run forever, though. The stress was already taking a toll on her body, which ached like it had never ached before. As the rain continued to fall, Rosie nervously pawed the ground, almost subconsciously, as she looked from the mare to the stallion, waiting for someone to make the next move. ------------------------------------- tag - Ostrich night , words - 471 , notes - I don't know where my muse came from but I'll take it XD , lyrics - landslide by fleetwood mac, credit - MISS JEY of Shadowplay [/ul]

She did not want to scare the mare, nor did she want to fight the stallion unless absolutely necessary. She wished Dante was here. She wished she'd never had left the terrain, but then she would not have come across the darling mare. Cadence wanted nothing more than to have a friend at home, and seeing how timid this mare was...she knew she was meant to come across her. The mare was scared, and if anything, Cadence knew she could ease her enough for her to make the decision she truly wanted, not a decision out of necessity. All Cadence ever wanted was to see the others around her happy. Seeing the stallion react the way he did, her own tension about him eased. He did not seem like a threat to the mare, but as the mare was still tense she did not move herself from being between them. She glanced to the stallion, and bowed her head to him that she meant him no harm-but she refused to drop her guard until Rosepetal felt comfortable. She wished Moulin Rouge and Dante were here...and she sighed, auds flicking as the rain came down upon them. She glanced upward, letting the rain cascade down over her a moment. She closed her eyes, and her voice was gentle as she started the song. "Hey now, Hey now..."She opened her eyes and glanced to the stallion, giving him a little smile, before her gaze turned to the mare. "Hey now, hey now..."She reached her muzzle out closer to the mare, but did not want to invade her personal space, so she drew her head away. "Have you ever seen such a beautiful night? I could almost kiss the stars for shining so bright..."They couldn't see the stars now, but they had been out before. But the song wasn't about that, not entirely about the weather. It was to ease the mind of the other mare, to make her forget this and look to the future for hope. She had seen a twitch of a smile earlier, and Cadence wanted it to return. She would not leave the mares side until smiling was all she did. "When I see you smiling, I go...oh, oh oh, I would never want to miss this...because in my heart, I know what this is..."Cadence smiled to the mare before tossing her head back and letting the rain fall down upon her as she reared up. Her eyes fluttered closed; partly do the rain, and partly because she was lost in the song as she poured her heart into it, trying to ease the moment and the mare's tension. "This is what dreaaam's are made of- this is what dreaaaams are made of...Hey now, heyyy now.."She landed, and her auds flicked to the stallion as her eyes went to the mare, and she flicked her ears to the mare and turned her full attention toward her. "Hey now..."Her voice had become softer as she spoke this, again not wanting to startle the mare. "You've got somewhere you belong, you'll find...somebody to love...this is what drreeaaaams...are made of..."She reached out her muzzle then to the mare, wanting to comfort her by bumping her muzzle against hers. She paused though, about six inches from her. Her visage friendly, content. She waited with her muzzle stuck out, waiting for the mare to either close the distance between them and press her muzzle to hers for a moment...or to pull away. She hoped the former, and if not, that she had at least eased the mare's mind. She nickered gently, content to wait forever if she had to...because she'd made up her mind. She wouldn't leave the mare's side until all she did was smile. Dante and Moulin would understand if she was gone a little longer than expected, right? Lyrics: This is what dreams are made of

Hercules watched the roan mare with warm eyes, his ears flicking towards her as he heard her name. Bowing to the mare again. "It is with great pleasure ot be able to know your name, Lady Rosie." He glanced towards the singing mare, curious as to why she only ever seemed to sing, His soft brown eyes watching both of them befor checking their surroundings, raising his muzzle to the sky as he checked to make sure the scent of other stallions weren't coming in on this area.
He shifted where he was standing, his side facing both of the mares and he backed up some, trying to seem as less invasive as possible of them. He would love to take Rosie back to his home and keep her safe while trying to nuture her confidence as best he could. It was around then that he seemed to noticed the roan mare's legs shaking, giving her a look of sympathy as he spoke gently. "Rosie.. would you like a safe place to rest? I promise to give you as much space as you need.. but it looks as if you could do with a safe place."

[/div] The mare beside her began singing again, and Rosie couldn’t help but feel her anxiety start to ebb away. She wasn’t sure how the mare was able to do it, whether it was her sweet tones that filled the air was such beauty or her face, which now that Rosepetal had calmed down, she could easily read as friendly and kind. Initially, when the mare reached out to her, Rosie instinctually flinched, preparing for a hit that didn’t come. She felt silly the minute it happened, knowing full well that the mare had no intention of hurting her. She had plenty of time to do that, and hadn’t shown Rosie an ounce of ill intent. But, if the mare noticed, she didn’t let on, and continued on with her song. The second time the mare reached out to her, Rosepetal had to consciously stop her body from stepping back again, and instead, after hesitating for a moment, reached her neck out and gently touched the tip of her nose to the other mares. It was strange for Rosie, for it had been so long she had felt the touch of another without pain. Rosie had almost forgotten about the stallion standing beside them until he spoke, making her jump a little at the sound of his voice. His words sounded so tempting, she desperately wanted somewhere safe to rest. Even if not permanently, Rosepetal knew she needed to regain some strength if she wanted to continue on with her journey. Her body, although young, could not keep going with the stress that she was putting on it. Sighing, Rosie murmured, “A place to rest does sound nice.” Rosepetal looked to the mare next to her, almost for approval. She wasn’t sure why, for the mare herself was a complete stranger as well. But, in the few moments they had shared together, Rosie had come to trust the stranger, singing mare. As Rosepetal’s anxiety decreased, the weather began to improve. The thunder was a noise in the distance, and while the rain still fell from the heavens, it began to do so more slowly. The clouds began to lighten as well, casting a slight glow in the valley. Rosie couldn’t help but hope that this was a good sign, that things were finally going to change for the better. ------------------------------------- tag - Ostrich night , words - 388 , notes - , lyrics - landslide by fleetwood mac, credit - MISS JEY of Shadowplay [/ul]

OOC; This is going to suck, but here goes nothing. IC: Cadence's auds flicked at the words of the stallion, as she tried her best not to pin them. Like herself, it seemed he had the best interest of the mare at heart. Sure, they were competing for her affection overall, but both of them seemed to have the same intention: allowing the mare to make the choice that she wanted. When he offered her a safe place to stay, she could not stop her ears from flicking back a moment, something she hoped that the mare had not noticed as she quickly righted them forward. She knew out here was not safe from wayward stallions, and she was grateful that the stallion that they had come across seemed to be gentle hearted. It made her ache for Dante more, but she would not leave the side of the mare until the mare had released her. She turned her attention to the mare, feeling connected to her after their noses had bumped. She noticed the look of slight confusion in her eyes, for approval, and Cadence nodded her head before turning her gaze back to the stallion, expecting him to lead the way. She knew she needed to get home, for only Moulin and Dante could understand her well enough for her to convey her meanings, but she had already made up her mind that she would stay with the mare until she either came with her, or released her. She did not want to force the mare to make a decision though, nor did she think it was a safe idea to stay here. But perhaps...could she convince them to come to her own home, to meet Dante? Perhaps Dante and this stallion could become allies, and band against the threat of evildoers? The thought seemed to form in her mind and become stronger; given the place where they were currently, depending on where the stallion's lands were, it would be a shorter distance to the lands of the plains where her and Dante resided. If the stallion had truly good intentions, why would he deny the mare meeting Cadence's family anyway? She squealed, quietly but excitedly, and nudged at the mare, then nudged at the stallion, before turning away and prancing a few steps toward the eastern terrain that she called home. After only a few steps she stopped and looked over her shoulder, tossing her head as if asking them to follow, beginning to sing as she took a few more steps as she gazed back. "Follow me, everything is alright-I'll be the one to tuck you in at night, and if you wanna leave, I can guarantee, you'll always still have a friend in me..."She turned to face the terrain again, pausing in her step as she let loose a whinny, as if trying to reach Dante and tell him they were on their way, to make a bed for their guest. He would not be pleased that she had brought another stallion home, but Dante was more used to stallions; perhaps he could help assess him and give the mare something to judge against. She sashayed a few steps to the side as she turned her head to look back again and tossed her head, before looking ahead and prancing forward again, waiting for them to pick up the pace. She sang the line again, still upbeat. She liked this plan. "Follow me, everything is alright-I'll be the one to tuck you in at night, and if you wanna leave, I can guarantee, you'll always still have a friend in me..."OOC: Yes, I totally stole the line from Uncle Kracker's follow me and then changed the end of the chorus to fit my needs. night jenn

Black ears flicked back and forth as he attempted to escape the threatening rains. The rain water didn't bother him, it was the earth shaking noise and bright flash of light that left him confused and dazed for a short time. He wasn't scared of it, just the flashes tripped something in his brain. As the rain began to slow, he tilted his head up toward the sky and closed his eyes. Lithium had taken refuge in a cave not too far off, and she was safe for the time being. [break][break] Amphetamine Ripper kept pushing forward though, searching the area to make sure it really was safe. As his ear flicked forward for probably the hundredth time, he could pick up faint voices. Sure enough, there was others nearby. His limbs stopped for a moment, trying to assess what they were saying, but he couldn't from where he stood. [break][break] He started forward again, hooves sinking in the wet grass with each step. As he came closer he could make out three voices, a stallions and two mares. The stallions voice got his blood pumping. Finaly some action since he had been out in this wilderness. [break][break] Although when he finally got to where the three were he stopped. He no longer had the urge to fight, but instead to win the attention of the mare that had seemed to be the center of attention. He tilted his head to the side before emerging through the trees. "Oh my, what a group to appear before me." He said, closing the distance between the three and himself. "Why might you all be out in this kind of weather, it seems unsafe."

Moulin Rogue
The young colt happily pranced a few feet in front of his father, seemingly unaware of just how angry the stallion was. Rogue was in his own little world, but determined to find his mother. He knew she had a strong sense of adventure, and that was something he most definitely had inherited from her. He was always wandering off, exploring his father's land, trying to make sense of everything that surrounded him.
Rogue paused for a moment, his black tipped auds flicking back and forth, trying to listen. In the distance, he could hear his mother's voice, and the colt took off at a gallop, leaving his father behind, a stunned expression on his face. Her voice grew louder and louder, and the excitement in his veins grew with every stride he took. It had felt like an eternity since he'd seen her, even though it couldn't have been more than two days. Withing minutes, the colt could begin to make out the shape out his mother, and a few other horses. This confused him at first, but he was quick to ignore them, eager to see his mother.
Paying no attention to the three other horses, Rogue ran straight for her, gently nuzzling her chest. "Hi mom! I missed you! Dad's realllllllllly mad. Who are these guys mom?" The colt giggled and looked over his shoulder, waiting for his dad to finally catch up.
Dante's Inferno
Dante walked with heavy footsteps behind his son, trying to calm himself by taking deep breaths. It wasn't that he was necessarily mad, he was just worried. Cadence had a tendency of disappearing during the nights, and it worried him every single time, even though she was back the next day most of the time. However, she had been gone longer than usual this time, and Rogue needed her, so off they went.
It was long before the colt bolted, catching him off guard. But as soon as his lover's call reached his auds, he too, took off. Once he reached the clearing, he slid to a stop, noticing the two other stallions, and a very timid mare that was tucked behind Cadence. Dante tipped his crown in the direction of the other two stallions, showing that he meant no harm. Dante was a very docile stallion, who was not a fan of confrontation, and tended to avoid it, unless absolutely necessary.
He then turned his attention back to Cadence, a small smile appearing on his lips as he watched the two reunite. He then looked at the mare that was hiding behind Cadence, curiosity beginning to get the best of him. He could tell by her demeanor that she had been through hell and back, and his heart broke for her. He had his fair share of hard times, but he could tell that she had been through much more. He took a small step forward, his head hanging kind of low, trying to shrink his appearance as much as possible. "Hello darling, I see Cadence has found a new friend?" He spoke quietly, trying not to seem intimidating.

Hercules waited patiently as he kept an ear on the sounds around them, a slow fog starting to slip from his body and float along the ground as he coated just the ground around them. He always felt safer with the fog, and the ability to hide away himself and those that he chose too was a tactic that he would indeed use to keep whomever he cared about safe. Hearing the mare say that a place to rest does sound nice, the Grulla stallion couldn’t help but perk up slightly. “Do you like the sound of being on the Beach side, dear Rosie?”
Hearing the other mare sing, Hercules couldn’t help but watch her quietly as he listened to her singing. All seemed quiet until another stallion walked up to the group. Shifting slightly, Hercules wasn’t sure how to feel about this other stud, he was still determined to take Rosie how if she so wanted to go with him, however now there were multiple choices… would she still pick him.
Watching the painted stallion, Hercules listened to his words before speaking up. “I was escorting these fine ladies somewhere safe. I might ask you the same of what you are doing out in this kind of weather?” He wasn’t rude as he spoke, but he was definitely keeping an eye on this new arrival. Not long after that his attention was taken to the small blur of color that went straight to Cadence.
Raising his head and catching sight of yet another stallion, Hercules shifted himself, fog still slowly rolling along the ground as he glanced at everyone nearby. Turning to the newest arrival he bowed slight. “Am I right to assume these are your lands? I wish for you to know I was simply making sure Cadence here and Rosie were safe out here during a storm.” He straightened himself as he glanced towards Cadence and Rosie, watching Rosie quietly to see how she was feeling about the whole situation.
