Fadei had been at the stables for a few hours before his lesson was to take place. He had taken his time taking care of his Nokota gelding, Viho, and was currently in the indoor arena hooking up a lunge rope to his bridle, the reins tied back on his neck so as to not be in the way. He was completely at ease being with his horse, his hand stroking Viho's strong neck as the gelding snorted with a twitch of his ears. He chuckled softly and moved to make sure the stirrups were still wrapped up and secured to avoid them slipping loose and thumping against his horse's sides. Once he was sure they were both secured, he moved more towards the center of the arena and clicked his tongue a few times to get his gelding moving away along with a light flick of the lunge rope. He watched his horse move out as he gave more off the lunge rope, slowly giving him more slack while also guiding him in a circle with himself at the center. He let his horse walk for a couple of minutes before clicking his tongue again a couple of times and flicking the lunge rope lightly to get his horse into a trot. It was a bit dizzying just turning in a circle while lunging his horse, but so long as he kept his eyes on the horse...it was a bit better. He knew his new instructor was supposed to meet up with him soon enough, though he figured he could work his horse out before actually getting on him before actually starting with whatever would happen. He knew he was advanced in riding dressage, but there was nothing wrong with wanting to learn more. He wanted to compete and actually succeed at something he enjoyed doing, something that made him tune out the rest of the world in a peaceful bliss. Something as simple as just lunging his horse made a smile cross his face. RileyCasper

Touch me, touch me, don't be sweet oday was finally the day she was supposed to teach. Howie had given her the paperwork for the student, that gave her an idea about him. She knew he was advanced level but wasn't exactly sure how advanced. Ari patted Ditzy's neck, the brown and white Gypsy Vanner stallion relaxed at her touch. She checked her watch, ten minutes until she had to be at the indoor arena. Might as well go, she wasn't sure how well this would bode, she never taught anyone before, only corrected people. She took Ditzy's double reins in her hand, but didn't have to pull or really lead him, he followed like a lost little puppy. As she arrived at the arena, she watched as her student lunged his horse. She watched the horses movements for a minute, noticing fluid in them, and wondered how he was in the saddle. Ari cleared her throat to announce herself, and dropped Ditzy's reins and left him go. The stallion just stood behind her, picture perfect. She crossed her arms over her chest and ran her fingers through her blonde locks. She didn't move further into the arena, but instead stayed at the edge as it was the safest there. "You must be Fadei?" She asked, her voice light and airy. "I'll be your instructor today, Arianna Valentine." She tilted her head to the side, "Your horse is quite beautiful."

Fadei didn't exactly hear the woman's throat clearing but at her voice he slowed Viho down to a walk and eventually halt before he turned to face where the woman was located. He glanced towards his horse with what appeared to be a proud expression from hearing her words about his horse. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Valentine, and thank you. He's a Nokota with a rather...unique attitude." He spoke, glancing towards his horse before walking him over to where his instructor was. "What do you suppose we do first then?" He asked her, leaving the lunge rope clipped to his horse's bridle for the time being. After all, if he were to lunge his horse a bit more then he was already prepared to do that. Touch me, touch me, don't be sweet rianna placed her fingers on her chin. "Well lets first start with what you know." She tilted her head to the side. "Are you a visual learner or instructional?" She asked as her stallion bumped his head against her shoulder. It brought a smile to her face. "Before we get any further, if you're visual, this is Double Doodle Scoop, or Ditzy. He's olympic level and shows his movements very clearly." She stroked the stallion's muzzle and leaned up against the wall, unsure of how to approch Fadei with instruction. | ✉ | Tis fine, I'm sure eventually the thread will pick up. |

Fadei nodded his head to her first set of words, soon pausing and taking a quick glance towards his horse before looking back at her. "Honestly, I'm a bit of both. Though mostly instructional." He responded, soon turning his eyes over to the stallion as she told him about the horse. An impressed whistle escaped him as he shifted himself to lean against his horse's shoulder a little. "Amazing. Have you competed with him often?" He asked her, nodding his chin towards Ditzy by her. "I'm aiming to someday get to that level with Viho here, or rather Jumping Chief as his registered name. We've done cross-country primarily and we've competed a couple of times doing that. Been thinking on dabbling in some Dressage eventually, though that day isn't any time soon I think. At least not right now." He spoke up, grinning a little as he turned his head to look at his gelding and give him a pat on his cheek. He soon turned his attention back over to his instructor after that brief moment of giving affection to his horse. "Oh, you should probably know that he doesn't really accept any other riders all that easily. Doesn't like to listen well and tends to try and do his own thing if it's not me. That would, unfortunately, include a little bit of light bucking." He added, his grin fading to a little more of a serious expression for that mention. Tag: RileyCasper

Touch me, touch me, don't be sweet he smiled when he said mostly instructional, fingers tracing over Ditzy's nose. She nodded to his question, "Several times, he's brought me home several blues. Recently we competed in a Haute Ecole with Howard Porter." She didn't share the results of that but it was less than perfect in her mind. As he spoke she nodded to each thing he said. A smile still across her face. "Ditzy and i aren't very well practiced in cross country. He's not built for that type of work. Ain't that right my baby boy." She cooed kissing the stallions cheek. "I'm sure with plenty of practice you'll go far." She added, about them dabbling with dressage. She pursed her lips and nodded once more, "No matter. Dressage is a bond between horse and rider. So I have no intention of riding him." Before giving any further instructions, Ari mounted Ditzy in a swift fluid motion, sitting up higher ment she could assess Fadei's movements better, atleast in her mind. "Lets start with the basics. See the letters?" She asked pointing around the arena, "Take note, each instruction will be given using the letters." She paused and pushed Ditzy to the far corner, the stallion responding with a fluid trot, his feathers and mane and tail flowing behind him. "Most routines start with you entering at C." She pointed to the center at the far end of the arena. "and troting to the center. I ask you to do so now." As she gave each instruction and explanation, her features became brighter.

He nodded at her words and watched as she mounted the large horse in a swift, fluid motion, a brow raising slightly at how easy she made that seem. However, he nodded once again and moved to unclip the lunge rope from Viho's bridle, moving to go drape that over the gate that led to the indoor arena. After that he went to mount his own horse after setting the stirrups loose and then untied the reigns so that he could properly ride the Nokota. He turned Viho around and flicked his eyes over to the letters displayed around the arena, attentive to what his instructor told him and as to what she and Ditzy were doing. So, enter at C and go to the center. He gave a nod and readjusted himself in the saddle before he nudged his sides and encouraged him into a trot, guiding Viho towards where he needed to go. He looked at what lay before them from between Viho's ears, keeping him at a steady trot until they got to the C point before he turned his gelding towards where the center of the arena was. Once there in the center he lightly pulled back on the reigns and slowed the Nokota down to a halt before he leaned forward a little and patted his neck in reward for good behavior before he turned his attention towards his teacher. "How was that? Honestly, Dressage sounds a lot more complicated than cross-country." He spoke up, chuckling a little as he shook his head. "So, apologies in advance if I suck a bit. Viho too for that matter. He's more used to cross-country naturally."Words: 278 Tag: RileyCasper

Touch me, touch me, don't be sweet he nodded, it was true. Dressage was far more complicated than cross country or even show jumping at that matter. She didn't bother to talk about the event they competed at. Ari's hand freed itself from the bridle. "At this point you salute." She sat high on her saddle and placed her hand near her forehead then flung it down to her side. Her head was cocked to the side. At his comment about them sucking she smiled reassuringly. "You'll get better with practice."Ditzy shifted below her, ready to start a routine, although he didn't move until she commanded. She pushed him into a trot and moved to the opposing corner. "When competing, there will only be you and the horse in the arena. Unless you are performing Haute Etoile, or doubles. Which is generally only Olympic level, and takes a lot to practice as it requires both riders to trust one another." She explained, her voice loud enough to travel across the arena. "Trot to A, once there turn to the left, continuing in a trot, and follow through to B" As she listed each letter. "At B, slow to a walk and continue the perimeter, until my intruction." | ✉ | ;-; Sorry if she starts getting rude about instructions. |
